About

Aulos Logo

Aulos Productions is an Edinburgh-based production company, dedicated to bringing new writing and ancient classics to the stage and screen. Through our work, we tend to explore the forgotten aspects of histories, both personal and political, cutting through myths to find the real people at their heart. Ancient tales are transported to modern settings and vice versa. Be it classical, the 20th century or the modern day, we aim to have all our work resonate with contemporary audiences.

Aulos ProductionsImage11 was formed in 2014 by James Beagon, an Edinburgh University graduate and prolific figure in the university theatre scene. His writing and directing credits during that time included adaptations of Rosemary Sutcliff’s Sword at Sunset’ and J.K Rowling’s Beedle the Bard.

Since 2014, Aulos Productions has produced a wide array of award-winning, award-nominated and critically-acclaimed work, touching on subjects as varied as the role of women in history, football hooliganism through the lens of Shakespeare, the impact of Brexit and the importance of choice in the lives of children.

  1. Our Son Robert enjoyed your show today, Gobland for the Goblins. Thanks for making our short stay in Edinburgh one that our family will not forget.Your charming way with our Son and how you befriended him made us as a family feel really welcome to your show.Having studied drama myself in Edinburgh and as a Music Teacher I can honestly say your production was wonderful and I wish your production company and all those performers and those behind the scenes the best for the future.
